Graduates Lack Confidence Despite Degrees

A survey of nearly 1,900 college students in India found that while most understand the importance of communication skills, many lack the confidence needed to succeed in job interviews and the workplace.

The survey highlights that 57% of students do not feel fully prepared for placements or confident enough to work in multinational companies.

Students overwhelmingly agree that communication skills in English are important for getting a good job and succeeding at work.

The biggest obstacle identified by 30% of respondents is a lack of confidence and English skills, more than those who cited inadequate technical skills or lack of internships.

Students want more practical training, such as mock interviews and communication training, rather than just theoretical knowledge.

Employers increasingly value communication skills as they determine career growth and success in the workplace.
