Two Suspected Cablewala Associates Arrested After Delhi Shootout
Delhi Police arrested two men after a brief gunfight in northeast Delhi.
The men are Mohammad Jaseem and Mohammad Kaif.
Police suspect they are associates of Rashid, who is also called Cablewala.
Police allege the men fired at a person and his house in Bhajanpura on October 2.
Nobody was hurt in that incident, but bullets hit the building.
Police said the men later fired at officers when they were told to stop.
Officers fired back, and both men were hurt and arrested.
Police said they found guns, ammunition and a motorcycle without a number plate.
Delhi Police arrested Mohammad Jaseem, 23, and Mohammad Kaif, 23, after a brief exchange of fire in northeast Delhi.
Police allege the two men fired at a resident and his house in Bhajanpura on October 2, following orders from Rashid alias Cablewala.
No one was injured in the Bhajanpura incident, although bullets struck the building’s glass railing and exterior wall.
Police said the suspects fired 12 rounds at officers during their arrest; two bullets hit officers’ bullet-proof jackets, and police fired 16 rounds in self-defence.
Police said both suspects were injured and recovered three semi-automatic pistols, 18 live cartridges and a motorcycle without a registration plate.
