Delhi HC Orders Bombay Shaving Co. to Remove Reel
Imagine two companies that make shavers, Philips and Bombay Shaving Company (BSC).
BSC made a video comparing their shaver, OmniBlade, to Philips' shaver, OneBlade, saying theirs was better and cheaper.
Philips didn't like this and thought the video was misleading, so they complained to a judge.
The judge agreed with Philips, and BSC had to take the video down from all social media.
The video claimed OmniBlade could do more than the OneBlade, but the judge determined that it was not accurate.
Philips sued Bombay Shaving Company (BSC) over a promotional Instagram reel.
The reel promoted BSC's 'OmniBlade' and compared it to Philips' 'OneBlade'.
Philips argued the reel's claims were false and designed to mislead consumers.
The Delhi High Court signaled it would side with Philips.
BSC agreed to remove the reel within 36 hours of the order.
