Indians Top UK Emigration Tally as Net Migration Drops
A lot of people from India and China who came to the UK for studies are now leaving.
This has caused the total number of people moving to the UK to drop a lot.
The UK government is happy because they wanted fewer people to come in, but some experts are worried that this might not be good for the economy in the long run.
Even though many Indians are leaving, India is still the top country for people coming to the UK for studies and work.
Indians accounted for 74,000 of the 204,000 drop in net migration in the UK.
45,000 Indian study visa holders and 22,000 work visa holders left the UK.
Chinese nationals followed with 42,000 exits, primarily on study visas.
Despite the exodus, Indians remain the largest group entering the UK, with 90,000 study visa grants and 46,000 work-related visas.
The UK government views the drop in net migration as a success, but experts warn it could harm the economy.
