Jharkhand Promotes Heritage and Diaspora Ties
Jharkhand, a state in India, is trying to get the world to recognize and protect its ancient stone monuments.
These monuments are special because they are still used by local tribes for their rituals and beliefs, unlike other ancient sites that are just for tourists.
The state's leader met with experts from the UK to learn how to take care of these monuments and make sure the local people can keep using them.
They also talked about how to share this heritage with the world without harming it.
Jharkhand wants to show that it is not just about mines and resources, but also about its rich culture and history.
They even gave a book about these monuments to show what they are protecting.
Additionally, the leader met with people from Jharkhand living in London, who welcomed him with traditional music and songs.
This shows how people from Jharkhand are proud of their culture and want to share it with the world.
Jharkhand's delegation met with Historic England to discuss conservation of its living megalithic heritage.
The state's megaliths are still used in everyday rituals and community life, unlike most prehistoric sites.
The meeting aligned with the 2025 UK–India Heritage Conservation Agreement, focusing on documentation and preservation.
