JD(U) rules out reviewing Bihar's liquor prohibition law

In a place called Bihar, in India, there is a rule that says people cannot sell alcohol.

This rule, called prohibition, was started by a leader named Nitish Kumar.

Some people now want Bihar's leaders to change the rule.

A minister named Jitan Ram Manjhi said the rule is not working well and suggested copying a different way of doing it from the state of Gujarat.

But the JD(U), a political party, said there is no question of changing the rule.

A JD(U) leader named Neeraj Kumar said the rule has helped women who live in villages, and that Prime Minister Narendra Modi appreciated it.

Smart people who study the economy wrote a report about this rule.

They found that the rule makes the government lose a lot of money, and that people are still secretly making and drinking alcohol.

Another leader, Bhai Birendra, agreed that people are still drinking and said the rule should be enforced better.

So some people want to keep the rule, while others think it needs to change.
