Maharashtra forms high-level panel to overhaul recruitment exam system

Maharashtra is a big state in India, and it wants the tests people take to get government jobs to be fair.

The leader of the state, Devendra Fadnavis, has chosen a special team of experts called a committee.

This committee will travel to different parts of the state to talk to students, schools and other people.

It will listen to their ideas and then suggest ways to make the exams safer and better.

This happened because some tests had problems, including a leaked paper in the medical exam called NEET.

A teacher test called TET also had a leaked question paper, so the exam had to be cancelled.

There were also complaints about exams in another state called Jharkhand.

The committee will be led by a senior officer named V. Radha.

The government also wants to build at least 25,000 safe classrooms where exams can be held.

Maharashtra will also bring in a stricter national law that punishes exam cheating more severely.
