Gorakshak Groups Demand Action on Nashik Cattle Smuggling
A group of people who care about cattle in Nashik met with the district collector to talk about a problem.
They said that many people are moving cattle illegally, breaking rules that protect animals.
They asked the collector to make sure the rules are followed and to stop the smuggling.
The collector listened and promised to act quickly.
The group hopes the government will take strong steps to stop the illegal cattle trade in Nashik.
Gorakshak organisations in Nashik submitted a memorandum to the district collector demanding action against illegal cattle smuggling.
The memorandum cites violations of the Motor Vehicles Act and Transport of Animals Rules, and calls for enforcement of Livestock Markets Regulation Rules.
Delegation included Uddhav Nekar, a member of the Maharashtra Goseva Commission, and cattle protectors from multiple talukas.
