Kamathipura Redevelopment Advances With Resident Participation and MHADA Dialogue

Mumbai plans to redevelop the historic Kamathipura area.

MHADA says people living and working there will help shape the plan.

Tenants, residents and landowners will be consulted.

The project covers about 34 acres.

It includes roughly 734 buildings.

More than 8,000 residents and tenants are connected to the project.

The plan could add around 4,500 homes.

MHADA also approved financial support for people who may need to move.

Officials say the process will focus on participation, transparency and dialogue.
