Tata Motors Finance Settles SEBI Probe
Tata Motors Finance, a company under Tata Capital, had to pay Rs 32 lakh to settle a case with SEBI.
SEBI is the organization that watches over the stock market in India.
The case was about how Tata Motors Finance sold special kinds of loans called NCDs to many people.
SEBI said that these NCDs were sold in a way that should have followed certain rules, but they didn't.
Tata Motors Finance agreed to pay the money to settle the case without admitting they did anything wrong.
SEBI accepted the payment and said they won't take any more action against the company for this issue, but they can if the company doesn't follow the rules in the future.
Tata Motors Finance settled a SEBI probe by paying Rs 32 lakh.
The case involved alleged violations in the issuance of non-convertible debentures (NCDs) between November 2019 and July 2022.
The NCDs were deemed a public issue, violating the Companies Act, 2013, and SEBI regulations.
SEBI approved the settlement and will not initiate further enforcement action for these violations.
SEBI retains the right to take action if any representations made during the settlement are found to be untrue or if the company breaches settlement conditions.
