EPFO Delays UPI-Linked PF Claims to August
The Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) in India is working on a new feature that will allow people to receive their provident fund (PF) money through UPI, similar to how you transfer money using apps like BHIM.
This feature was supposed to launch earlier but has been delayed to August 2025 because of some technical issues with their new online system.
The new system is supposed to make it easier and faster to get PF money, but some people have had problems logging in or finding their old account information.
The EPFO is fixing these issues before introducing the UPI feature.
Once it's ready, people will be able to get their PF money instantly in their bank accounts using UPI, which is faster than the current system.
The EPFO is also making other improvements to their online services to make things easier for users.
The rollout of UPI-linked transactions for provident fund services by EPFO has been delayed to August 2025.
The delay is due to glitches in the upgraded CITES 2.01 platform, including missing data and login issues.
EPFO is prioritizing the stabilization of the upgraded portal before introducing new digital services.
The UPI-linked transaction facility will allow EPF members to receive claim settlements instantly through a BHIM-linked UPI interface.
The integration is part of EPFO's broader effort to modernize digital services and reduce claim processing time.
