Kerala's Gen Z Post Office Built by Students
Imagine a post office that doesn't look like the usual stiff, quiet place with long queues.
Instead, it's a fun, colorful spot with picnic tables, art walls, and even a small library.
That's exactly what students at CMS College in Kerala have created!
They worked with India Post to design a post office just for their generation, called the Gen Z Post Office.
It's not just for sending letters and parcels; it's also a place to hang out, study, or play games.
The post office has everything you need to send mail, like a special machine for booking parcels and a printer for making personalized stamps.
It's a cool mix of old and new, making postal services feel more like part of everyday campus life.
This project shows how traditional services can be made fresh and exciting for young people.
Kerala's first Gen Z Post Office was inaugurated at CMS College, Kottayam, on 9 December 2025.
The post office was entirely designed and built by CMS College students in partnership with India Post.
The space features picnic tables, art walls, green corners, upcycled tyres, and a small library with books and board games.
Students can book parcels, letters, speed post, and create personalized stamps at the multi-purpose counter.
The post office aims to make postal services more accessible and integrated into campus life for Gen Z students.
