Punjab Reduces Flood Damage Claim to Rs 11,855 Crore
Punjab has lowered its request for flood damage compensation to Rs 11,855 crore.
This is the third time they've changed the amount.
The first time, they asked for Rs 13,289 crore, then lowered it to Rs 12,905 crore, and now it's Rs 11,855 crore.
The state worked with IIT Roorkee to calculate the damage scientifically.
They need this money to fix roads, help farmers, repair schools and hospitals, and support other areas affected by the floods.
The central government is reviewing the report.
Punjab reduced its flood damage claim to Rs 11,855 crore in the final report to NDMA.
The claim was initially Rs 13,289 crore, then reduced to Rs 12,905 crore, and now Rs 11,855 crore.
The assessment was done with the help of IIT Roorkee under the Post Disaster Needs Assessment (PDNA) framework.
The final report includes allocations for road repairs, agriculture, water resources, schools, hospitals, and other sectors.
The state government claims the report reflects actual damage and was finalized in agreement with central teams.
