Two Delhi Women Arrested in Alleged Dating-App Banking Fraud
Police say two women allegedly tricked a 67-year-old man through a dating app.
They say Jyotsna made a fake online profile and contacted him.
Manshi allegedly pretended to be that person when they met.
The man met the women on July 20 and again on July 24.
During the second meeting, police say his phone was stolen.
The phone was allegedly used to transfer ₹1.30 lakh from his bank accounts.
Police said ₹90,000 was later withdrawn from an ATM.
CCTV footage reportedly showed both women withdrawing money.
The women were arrested, and the investigation is continuing.
Police arrested Jyotsna, 26, and Manshi, 21, for allegedly cheating a 67-year-old man of ₹1.30 lakh.
Police said Jyotsna created a fictitious dating-app profile and Manshi impersonated its holder during meetings with the man.
The women allegedly stole the man’s mobile phone during dinner at a Defence Colony restaurant on July 24.
₹1.30 lakh was allegedly transferred without consent through UPI from the man’s two bank accounts.
Police said ₹90,000 was withdrawn at an ATM, while CCTV, banking records and technical surveillance helped identify the accused.
