Delhi HC Refuses Stay on Order Recognizing DIAL as Sole Custodian of Airport, Aerocity Waste
Imagine a big area around the airport and a place called Aerocity where lots of trash is made.
A city group called MCD wanted to hire a company to clean up this trash.
But, a judge had already said that a different company, DIAL, is in charge of cleaning up the trash in the airport and Aerocity area.
MCD asked a higher court to stop the judge's decision, but the higher court said no for now.
They want to hear from DIAL and the airport people before making a final decision.
So, for now, DIAL is still in charge of the trash in those specific areas.
Delhi High Court has refused to stay a single judge's order recognizing DIAL as the exclusive custodian of the airport and Aerocity areas for solid waste management.
The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) filed an appeal challenging this ruling.
The single judge had partly set aside an MCD tender notice for a waste management facility, excluding the airport and Aerocity areas.
The MCD tender aimed to select an agency for a material recovery facility to manage dry solid waste in Sector 29, Dwarka.
The High Court has sought responses from DIAL and Airports Authority of India (AAI) regarding MCD's appeal.
