Indian Naval Ships Visit Manila and Kolkata
The Indian Navy has been very busy with two important visits.
First, the INS Sahyadri, a special stealth frigate, went to Manila in the Philippines.
Before arriving, it practiced with the Philippine Navy, doing things like talking to each other, moving ships carefully, and practicing how to board other ships.
While in Manila, the sailors learned from each other, visited each other's ships, and did fun activities like sports and yoga.
They also helped an orphanage.
This visit shows that India and the Philippines are becoming better friends and working together to keep the ocean area safe and peaceful.
At the same time, two other Indian Navy ships, INS Khanjar and INS Kora, visited Kolkata in India.
These ships are part of the Indian Navy's outreach to citizens during Navy Week Celebrations 2025.
The ships were open to the public, and many people, including students, visited them.
The Navy also talked about how these ships are important for protecting India's waters and fighting in wars.
Both visits show how the Indian Navy is working to keep the country safe and make friends with other countries.
INS Sahyadri, an indigenously designed stealth frigate, conducted naval exercises with the Philippine Navy before making a port call at Manila.
INS Khanjar and INS Kora, frontline guided missile corvettes, made a port call at Kolkata to mark Navy Day and are open to the public.
The ships conducted tactical communication drills, navigation maneuvers, VBSS drills, and flying operations with the Philippine Navy.
The harbour phase includes professional exchanges, cross-deck visits, cultural interactions, and public visits in Kolkata.
The visits underscore India's commitment to strengthening ties with the Philippines and promoting peace in the Indo-Pacific, as well as enhancing outreach to citizens during Navy Week Celebrations 2025.
