Composer Recalls Rajesh Khanna’s Stardom, Drinking and Career Decline

Rajesh Khanna was one of Hindi cinema’s biggest stars.

Composer Anandji said Khanna was once humble and received help from the Kalyanji-Anandji music duo.

After becoming very successful, Anandji said Khanna began expecting special respect from others.

He also alleged that Khanna drank heavily and sometimes became difficult on film sets.

In one incident, Khanna reportedly refused to perform a song after recording it.

Anandji told him that his fame would not last forever if he continued behaving that way.

Years later, after Khanna’s career had declined, the two met again.

Anandji compared him with Amitabh Bachchan, whom he said stayed grounded despite becoming famous.
