Uttarakhand to Provide Escorts for Schoolchildren Amid Animal Attacks
In Uttarakhand, India, the government is going to provide escorts to schoolchildren in the hill areas to protect them from wild animals like leopards and bears.
The Chief Minister, Pushkar Singh Dhami, has ordered the Forest Department and district administration to make sure that children are safely dropped off and picked up from school.
This is because there have been more attacks by wild animals recently, and some people have even lost their lives.
The Forest Department teams need to reach the location of any animal attack within 30 minutes.
The government is also going to give money to the families of people who have been killed in these animal attacks.
They are going to use cameras to watch areas where wild animals might be, and they will also teach people, especially children and women, how to stay safe.
The Forest Department has to make a plan to help these families within two weeks.
