Cyclone Ditwah Weakens, Heavy Rain Continues
Cyclone Ditwah is a big storm that is bringing very heavy rain and strong winds to the eastern coast of India, especially in the states of Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Andhra Pradesh.
The storm is not expected to hit the land directly but will move close to the coast, causing a lot of rain and wind.
Many places in these states have been warned to be careful because of the bad weather.
The storm is moving slowly, which means it will stay near the coast for a longer time, making the rain and wind last longer.
Because of the storm, many flights from Chennai Airport have been cancelled.
People are being told to be ready for possible damage to houses, power lines, and roads.
Travellers are advised to avoid visiting coastal cities due to extreme weather and disrupted transport.
The storm is expected to weaken into a deep depression soon.
Heavy rainfall is affecting several districts, and three people have lost their lives in rain-related incidents.
The government has prepared disaster response teams to help those in need.
Cyclone Ditwah is expected to weaken into a deep depression within 24 hours.
The cyclone is moving northwards parallel to the coasts of North Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.
Heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely to occur in several districts, including Cuddalore, Nagapattinam, Mayiladuthurai, Villupuram, Chengalpattu, and Chennai.
Three people have been killed in rain-related incidents in Tamil Nadu.
Disaster response teams are prepared and ready to assist in affected areas.
