Hyderabad Owners Surrender Land for KBR Park Road Widening
Hyderabad officials are changing roads and junctions around KBR Park to help traffic move more smoothly.
Nandamuri Balakrishna and the owners of two other properties have agreed to give some land for the work.
Balakrishna is giving 862.77 square yards and will receive development-rights certificates instead of money.
The road work will affect a large part of a building at his home, so he will need to move.
The changes are meant to help cars make turns and travel through the area with fewer stops.
GHMC is also changing traffic islands and dividers and adding safety measures for people walking and riding two-wheelers.
A new steel flyover is being built between Jubilee Hills Checkpost and NFCL Junction.
It is expected to cost about ₹1,090 crore.
Nandamuri Balakrishna, Shabdalaya Studios and Bhavya Constructions agreed to surrender land for road-widening work near Jubilee Hills Road No. 45.
Balakrishna agreed to give GHMC 862.77 square yards and accept Transferable Development Rights certificates instead of cash compensation.
The widening will affect more than half of a building at Balakrishna’s residence, prompting him to relocate.
GHMC is redesigning junctions, islands and dividers around KBR Park to support the proposed permanent one-way traffic system and improve turns.
