Couple Wins Refund After Travel Company Fails to Deliver Promised Lakshadweep Stay

Couple Wins Refund After Travel Company Fails to Deliver Promised Lakshadweep Stay

A couple from Mohali booked a vacation package to Lakshadweep through a travel company.

They paid ₹1.2 lakh for a holiday membership that included a stay at a four-star hotel.

However, when they arrived, they were given a substandard homestay instead.

The company also charged them an extra ₹21,500 just before the trip.

The couple complained to the consumer court, which ordered the company to refund the entire amount and pay ₹10,000 as compensation.

The court also noted that the company did not contest the allegations, making the couple's case stronger.

This ruling is important for travelers because it shows that travel companies cannot promise one thing and deliver something worse without facing consequences.
