15% Water Cut in 17 Mumbai Wards
The city of Mumbai is experiencing a 15% reduction in water supply in 17 of its 24 wards.
This water cut started on Monday morning and will last until Tuesday morning.
The reason for this reduction is that the city's officials are working on a big project to replace an old water pipe that brings water from a dam to a treatment plant.
This work is expected to take 24 hours and will affect the water supply to the treatment plant, which in turn affects the water supply to these 17 wards.
The officials have sent a team to check on the work being done at the water plant.
A 15% water cut was enforced in 17 of Mumbai's 24 wards from Monday morning.
The water cut is due to the BMC's work on replacing a 2750-mm diameter water channel from Tansa dam to the Bhandup plant.
The work is expected to last 24 hours, affecting water supply to the Bhandup plant by 15%.
A team from the Mumbai Water Department is inspecting the work at the water plant outpost in Gundavli village of Bhiwandi taluka.
The water cut is scheduled to end on Tuesday morning.
