Gurgaon and Delhi Plan Infrastructure Upgrades
Gurgaon and Delhi are planning big changes for 2026 to fix two big problems: waterlogging and garbage.
Gurgaon is building a new big drain to handle rainwater, especially during the monsoon season.
This will help reduce flooding in areas like Sectors 68 to 80.
They are also starting a new system to collect garbage from every home, which will be divided into different areas for better management.
Additionally, they are cleaning out old drains to make sure they work well when the rainy season comes.
A new pipeline is also being built to help with water drainage on a busy road.
The city produces a lot of garbage every day, and they are asking big waste producers to manage their own waste better.
In Delhi, the Public Works Department is building a new drain along Mathura Road to stop waterlogging.
They are also fixing leaks in a tunnel and a parking lot.
These changes are expected to make both cities cleaner and safer from flooding.
Gurgaon plans to build a fourth stormwater drain network along the Southern Peripheral Road to manage monsoon rainwater.
The city will implement a door-to-door waste collection system divided into clusters, pending state government approval.
Desilting of drains and sewer lines is scheduled for completion by May 31, 2026, before the monsoon season.
A new drainage pipeline will be set up to address waterlogging on the Narsinghpur service road along NH-48.
Delhi's Public Works Department plans to build a new kerb channel drain along Mathura Road to tackle waterlogging.
