Nadar and Premji lose billions in 2025
Two big Indian IT bosses, Shiv Nadar and Azim Premji, lost a lot of money in 2025.
Their companies, HCL Tech and Wipro, had their shares fall by about 12-13%.
This happened because people are worried about the IT services industry and are waiting to see how AI will change things.
Shiv Nadar lost about $4.85 billion, and Azim Premji lost about $3.97 billion.
Even though their shares fell, it was not as bad as the overall IT index, which fell by 14.25%.
Analysts think that the IT services companies will recover once the AI spending cycle moderates and enterprises start deploying AI more widely.
Shiv Nadar and Azim Premji lost $8.82 billion in 2025 due to falling shares of HCL Tech and Wipro.
HCL Tech and Wipro shares fell 12-13% in 2025, better than the 14.25% decline in the BSE IT index.
Shiv Nadar's net worth is now $38.2 billion, while Azim Premji's is $26.9 billion.
Analysts believe the IT services sector will recover once the AI capex cycle moderates and enterprises move to deployment.
Investors are concerned about the sluggish revenue growth and the position of IT services in the AI world.
