Qualcomm in Talks with Samsung for 2-Nanometre Chips
Qualcomm, a big company that makes chips for phones and other devices, is talking to Samsung about making very tiny and powerful chips using a new technology called 2-nanometre.
These chips are super small and can do a lot of work, which is great for phones and computers.
Qualcomm has already finished designing these chips and is ready to start making them soon.
Samsung, which also makes chips, has been having some trouble with its chip-making business, but it recently made a big deal with another company called Tesla.
This could be a good opportunity for both Qualcomm and Samsung to work together and make even better chips.
Qualcomm is in talks with Samsung for contract manufacturing of 2-nanometre chips.
Qualcomm's CEO, Cristiano Amon, mentioned the talks, citing Samsung as the first choice among several foundry firms.
Design work for the chips is completed, and commercialisation is expected soon.
Samsung's foundry business is currently loss-making but is expected to grow with recent deals.
Samsung recently signed a $16.5 billion deal with Tesla, indicating a potential turnaround in its foundry business.
