PM Modi Leads Top CEOs to UK for FTA Discussions
The Prime Minister of India took a group of important business leaders to the UK to talk about a new trade deal.
This deal, called the India-UK FTA, is meant to make it easier for companies in both countries to buy and sell goods and services.
The goal is to boost trade, possibly doubling it in a few years.
It will lower taxes on many products, like clothes and medicines, making them cheaper and easier to sell in each other's countries.
The leaders hoped to sign the agreement during this visit but final checks were still underway.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi led a business delegation to the UK.
The visit included discussions with UK industrialists regarding the India-UK Free Trade Agreement (FTA).
A formal signing of the FTA was hoped for during the visit; however, legal work was ongoing.
