Prem Keetanu Review Finds Outdated Tropes, Muddled Modern Romance
Prem Keetanu is a Hindi romantic comedy about Vishal, Suhani, and Ranjeet.
Vishal likes Suhani, but she does not clearly return his feelings.
The film shows Vishal continuing to pursue her after she rejects him.
The reviewer says this sends an old-fashioned message about boys and consent.
Ranjeet, who helps Suhani at work, seems more responsible and likeable than Vishal.
Suhani is also criticized for sending mixed signals while being unsure about both men.
The review says the story treats her career and choices unfairly.
Overall, the film is described as confused and less emotionally convincing than a modern romance should be.
The Hindi remake struggles to present a convincing modern urban love story.
Vishal pursues Suhani despite her rejection, prompting criticism of its consent messaging.
Ranjeet is portrayed as more helpful and likeable than Vishal, despite being treated as a rival.
The review criticizes Suhani’s characterization and the film’s unclear romantic choices.
Director Apoorv Singh Karki’s film relies on old-fashioned songs, dream sequences, and familiar romantic tropes.

Vishal’s pursuit of Suhani
Film’s Romantic Framing
The film presents Vishal’s persistence and romantic pursuit as part of its love story, including his belief that his behavior is normal for boys.
Reviewer’s Critique
The review argues that this treats rejection and consent too casually and reinforces the idea that a woman’s refusal may eventually become acceptance.
Choosing between the men
Film’s Romantic Framing
The story frames Suhani as choosing between Vishal, an unsuccessful but persistent student, and Ranjeet, a successful professional who supports her.
Reviewer’s Critique
The review says this comparison unfairly reduces Suhani’s decision to choosing a man, instead of recognizing that she may prioritize her career or reject both relationships.
Ranjeet’s role
Film’s Romantic Framing
Ranjeet is positioned as Vishal’s romantic rival and is treated by the story as the less suitable choice.
Reviewer’s Critique
The review finds Ranjeet more likeable because he helps Suhani professionally and takes responsibility for her mistake at work.
