AIBE to be held twice yearly, final year students eligible: BCI to SC

The Bar Council of India (BCI) told the Supreme Court that they have made new rules.

These rules say that final year law students can take the All India Bar Exam (AIBE).

The AIBE will be held twice a year.

Students can take the exam if they pass their final exams.

The Supreme Court had earlier allowed final year students to take the exam in 2024.

Before that, in 2023, the court told the BCI to make these rules.

The court said it was important for final year students to take the exam so they don't waste a year.

The AIBE is a test that law graduates must pass to become lawyers.

The exam will be held on June 7, 2026, and registrations will start on February 21, 2026.
