Justice Eludes Jamia Millia Islamia Students After 2019 Police Attack
In 2019, students at Jamia Millia Islamia in Delhi wanted to peacefully protest against some new laws.
The police reacted very harshly, using tear gas and beating the students.
Many students were hurt, and some even lost an eye.
The students tried to get justice in court, but the courts have been very slow, and after six years, the case still hasn't even started.
The students feel that the courts are not protecting their rights, and many people in India are facing similar problems where the courts are not helping them.
Students of Jamia Millia Islamia were attacked by Delhi police in 2019 during a peaceful protest against CAA/NRC.
99 students were injured, with some suffering broken bones and one losing an eye.
The students filed complaints with the police, but no FIRs were registered.
The Supreme Court and Delhi High Court have delayed the case, and it has not yet begun after six years.
The state affidavit exonerated all students of any wrongdoing, but the judiciary has not taken action.
