Tatkal NPS Launches on BHIM App for Faster Account Opening
PFRDA has added a faster way to open a pension account using the BHIM Payments App.
This service is called Tatkal NPS.
Eligible customers first enter their date of birth.
They then choose their bank account and make a contribution.
The service currently works for customers of five listed banks.
PFRDA says users do not need paperwork for this digital process.
It also says KYC and PRAN generation happen quickly.
Users can start with a minimum contribution of ₹250.
PFRDA has launched Tatkal NPS on the BHIM Payments App for eligible bank customers.
Users can open an NPS account in three steps: enter their date of birth, select their bank account, and contribute.
The facility is currently available to customers of State Bank of India, ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank, Axis Bank, and IndusInd Bank.
PFRDA says the digital process offers no paperwork, instant KYC, quick onboarding, and instant PRAN generation.
The minimum initial contribution is ₹250, allowing users to begin an NPS account through the app.
