Mute and Deaf Fisherman Dies in Bangladesh Jail, Family Suspects Foul Play
A young fisherman from India named Babul Das, who could not hear or speak, was fishing with friends.
They accidentally went into the waters of another country, Bangladesh, and were arrested.
While in jail in Bangladesh, Babul sadly passed away.
The people in charge said he had a heart attack.
But Babul's family doesn't believe this.
They say he was healthy and strong, and they are worried he might have been hurt in jail.
They want to bring his body back home to find out for sure what happened.
A mute and deaf fisherman from West Bengal, Babul Das (25), died in a Bangladeshi jail.
Das was arrested on July 15 by the Bangladesh Navy with 33 other Indian fishermen for allegedly violating international waters.
The fishermen's trawlers were seized for venturing into Bangladeshi waters while catching Hilsa fish.
Authorities in Bangladesh reported Das died of a heart attack, but his family doubts this cause.
