SC Halts Mumbai Blasts Case Release; State to Appeal
The Supreme Court is reviewing a lower court's decision to release people accused of the 2006 Mumbai train blasts.
Deputy CM Ajit Pawar said the government wants to make sure innocent people aren't punished but the guilty ones are.
Another leader, Eknath Shinde, agrees and promises to keep fighting until those responsible are punished.
The original court had found some accused guilty, but the High Court let them go, saying evidence wasn't reliable.
Now, the state government is appealing the High Court’s decision, wanting the Supreme Court to review the case.
The Supreme Court stayed the Bombay High Court's decision to release all 12 accused in the 2006 Mumbai train blasts case.
Maharashtra Deputy CM Ajit Pawar stated that some innocent people were also trapped in the case and emphasized that no innocent person should be punished.
Deputy CM Eknath Shinde affirmed the state government's commitment to ensure the guilty are severely punished and will not let the accused go free.
The Bombay High Court had overturned the special court's judgment, citing coerced confessions and unreliable evidence.
The state government will appeal against the Bombay High Court’s verdict, aiming to present the case with strong legal arguments.
