China Mandates Domestic AI Chips in State-Funded Data Centers

Imagine China wants its computers to be super smart using special AI chips.

The government has told all new computer centers that get any government money that they can only use chips made in China.

If a computer center is not very finished yet, it must remove any foreign chips it has or cancel buying them.

This is a big move to make China less dependent on other countries for important technology, especially from companies like Nvidia.

It's part of a bigger competition between China and the U.S. for who can make the best computer parts.

This will help Chinese chip companies like Huawei, but it might make it harder for foreign companies to sell their chips there.

The U.S. has also restricted advanced chips to China due to national security worries.
