BJP Signals Serious Push for Mizoram’s 2028 Assembly Elections
The BJP is preparing for Mizoram’s Assembly election in 2028.
The party has appointed Bhagwat Kishanrao Karad to oversee its work in the state.
Karad said he would visit often and help build the party locally.
He said the BJP wants to support development, peace and good governance in Mizoram.
He pointed to new infrastructure, including a railway line reaching the capital region.
He also mentioned other projects in roads, energy, schools and housing.
Karad said the BJP believes it can do well in the election.
He said there has been no formal discussion about the Zoram People’s Movement joining the NDA.
BJP-appointed Mizoram in-charge Bhagwat Kishanrao Karad said the party’s central leadership is taking the 2028 Assembly elections seriously.
Karad said he would visit Mizoram regularly to help strengthen the BJP organisation at the grassroots level.
He said the party aims to bring good governance, development and peace to the state.
Karad cited the 51.38-kilometre Bairabi-Sairang railway line, built at a cost of more than Rs 8,070 crore, as a major connectivity project.
He said there had been no formal discussion about the ruling Zoram People’s Movement joining the NDA, and any decision would rest with the BJP’s central leadership.
