Supreme Court Urges Prevention to Improve Women’s Safety in Delhi

Supreme Court Urges Prevention to Improve Women’s Safety in Delhi

The Supreme Court is asking officials to make Delhi safer for women and girls.

It said women should be able to walk outside or travel at night without feeling unsafe.

The judges said it is better to stop crimes before they happen than to respond only afterward.

They pointed to dark areas, weak surveillance and insufficient police patrols as problems.

The court has asked police teams to find places where people may be at greater risk.

It also wants stronger patrols and checks on lights and cameras.

Officials must show that safety steps are actually happening, not just write about them in reports.

The court is hearing the matter after several alleged sexual crimes in the Delhi area.
