Putin Visits India, Strengthens Ties
Russian President Vladimir Putin visited India for a short trip to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
They talked about how India's economy is growing fast, and Putin gave Modi a compliment for his leadership.
Modi gave Putin a special Russian copy of the Bhagavad Gita, a holy book.
They also discussed how to make their countries trade more and work together on important things like defence and energy.
The US has put extra taxes on some Indian goods because India buys oil from Russia, but Putin said that's not fair because the US buys things from Russia too.
They plan to have more meetings and sign some agreements to make their friendship stronger.
Modi also told Putin that India is not neutral but stands for peace in the Russia-Ukraine conflict and supports a peaceful solution through dialogue and diplomacy.
Russian President Vladimir Putin visited India for a 2-day trip, meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi to strengthen bilateral ties.
Modi gifted Putin a Russian edition of the Bhagavad Gita, highlighting cultural exchange.
The 23rd Annual India-Russia Summit will focus on defence cooperation, trade mechanisms, and collaboration in small modular nuclear reactors.
Putin defended India's purchase of Russian oil, arguing that the US also buys nuclear fuel from Russia.
The visit aims to boost trade to $100 billion by 2030, with discussions on diversifying exports and resolving market access issues.
