Carter Road Hoardings Tender Paused Over Coastal Permissions

Carter Road Hoardings Tender Paused Over Coastal Permissions

Officials wanted to install 35 LED advertising boards along Mumbai’s Carter Road promenade.

The project was planned through a public-private partnership.

It has been paused because the required coastal permission has not been granted.

The area is covered by rules protecting coastal zones.

Ashish Shelar said the project should not move forward without the proper approval.

He also asked the BMC to create one set of rules for Mumbai’s different waterfront promenades.

Residents said they welcomed the pause but wanted the advertising project cancelled completely.

They also asked to help shape the new waterfront policy.
