India Removes Structures Outside Pakistan High Commission After Islamabad Move

Indian authorities removed barriers and other structures outside Pakistan’s diplomatic office in New Delhi.

The structures were near the area where people apply for visas.

Officials said they were outside the office’s approved boundary.

A machine pulled down fences, gates, concrete pieces and roofing materials.

Photos showed rubble and possible damage near the visa-service windows.

The main entrance of the office was still standing.

Pakistan had removed barriers outside India’s diplomatic office in Islamabad three days earlier.

Because the actions happened so close together, the Indian move was seen as a response.

Police and other security measures continued to protect the Pakistani office.
