US Launches Airstrikes on Iran After Troops Killed

The United States launched new airstrikes on Iran after two American soldiers were killed and four were injured in an attack by Iran on a military base in Jordan.

One American soldier is still missing.

The US military said the airstrikes were ordered by President Donald Trump to weaken Iran's military capabilities and send a strong message.

Iran had attacked the Muwaffaq Salti Air Base, which is used by both Jordanian forces and the US-led coalition.

The US Defence Secretary called the fallen troops heroes.

Since the fighting started, 16 American soldiers have been killed and more than 430 have been wounded.

Both countries are now targeting more areas, especially around the Strait of Hormuz, a very busy shipping route.

Iran has closed this waterway, and the US military has set up a naval blockade around Iran.

Iran's leader warned the US against continuing the attacks, calling President Trump's actions worthless.

Nearby countries like Bahrain, Kuwait, and Qatar have also been affected by the conflict.
