MobiKwik Reports Significant Net Loss Increase in Q2 FY26 Due to Fraud
MobiKwik, a company that helps people pay using their phones, had a really bad financial quarter.
They lost a lot more money than last year, about seven times as much!
This happened because some people used a glitch in their system to steal money.
MobiKwik had to pay for this mistake, which made their losses bigger.
They also made a little less money from their regular business.
However, they are trying to get back some of the stolen money and are working hard to stop losing so much money each quarter.
They also mentioned that their user numbers and the number of shops that use their service have grown.
MobiKwik's net loss for Q2 FY26 increased by 694% year-on-year to Rs 28.6 crore.
The significant loss increase was primarily due to a one-time fraud-related charge of Rs 11.8 crore.
Revenue from operations decreased by 7% year-on-year to Rs 270.2 crore in Q2 FY26.
The company is working to recover Rs 40.4 crore exploited through a technical bug, having recovered Rs 21.9 crore so far.
Despite the net loss, operational losses narrowed sequentially, and the user and merchant base continued to grow.
