Thane Tribal Schools Begin Snakebite Awareness Campaign September 19

Thane Tribal Schools Begin Snakebite Awareness Campaign September 19

A government department will teach students in Thane how to stay safe around snakes and other wildlife.

The lessons will run from September 19 to 26.

They are meant for schools and hostels in hilly, forested, and remote areas.

Students will learn facts about snakebites instead of relying on fear or superstition.

They will also learn to keep away from wild animals.

The training will explain what to do quickly after a snakebite.

No live snakes will be demonstrated inside schools.

Instead, experts will record lessons that schools can show digitally.

School leaders and nurses must keep emergency phone numbers updated.

They must also know where to find medical care, antivenom, transport, and snake rescuers.
