UPI System to Implement New Restrictions Starting August 2025
Imagine UPI like a digital wallet, and the government is updating the rules to make it safer.
Starting August 2025, you can only check your balance 50 times a day on each app you use.
This is like a limit on how often you can look inside your wallet.
Also, there's a limit on how many times the app can show you your linked bank accounts – only 25 times per app.
These new rules are for all the banks and payment apps, like Paytm and PhonePe, and they're meant to help everything work smoothly and securely.
The Unified Payments Interface (UPI) system will undergo changes from August 1, 2025.
New Application Programming Interface (API) usage rules will be implemented by NPCI.
Users will be limited to 50 balance checks per day per UPI app.
PSPs will need to adjust transaction status checks under the new guidelines.
Account list access will be restricted to 25 times per day per app.
