WhatsApp Developing Parental Control Features for Minors
WhatsApp is working on a new feature to help parents keep their kids safe on the app.
They are creating special accounts for teens that are linked to a parent's account.
Parents can then control who can see their child's profile picture, last seen status, and other info.
The teen's account will only let them talk to people saved in their phonebook.
Parents will get updates about how the account is being used, but they won't be able to see private messages.
This feature is still being tested and isn't available to everyone yet, but it could come out soon.
It's a way for WhatsApp to make sure younger users are safer while still keeping their conversations private.
WhatsApp is developing parental control features for minors, including secondary accounts linked to a parent's account.
Parents can manage privacy settings remotely, such as who can see the child's profile picture and last seen status.
Teen accounts will be restricted to communicating only with contacts saved in their phonebook.
Parents will receive general activity updates but cannot see message content, chat lists, or call logs.
The feature is still under development and has not been officially confirmed for a timeline.
