Gujarat Governor advocates natural farming for soil fertility, cost savings
The leader of Gujarat, a big state in India, visited farmers and told them to grow food in a natural way.
He said using too many chemicals in the soil is bad for nature and can hurt the water and land for kids in the future.
Instead, he wants farmers to use things from cows, like milk and manure, to help plants grow.
He showed farmers a special drink made from natural things called Jeevamrut that makes the soil healthy.
The leader said healthy soil can grow even more food and costs less money.
He also said forests grow well without chemicals, so farms can too.
During his visit, he stayed at a small village school and woke up early to do yoga with the children.
He taught them breathing exercises to help them feel calm and focused.
He believes that taking care of the land is a way to give future generations a better world.
Gujarat Governor Acharya Devvrat urged farmers to abandon chemical farming and adopt natural farming during a two-day visit to Anand district.
He visited natural farmer Naresh Solanki's farm in Boriyavi village, where he milked a cow, ploughed the field, and explained the preparation and benefits of Jeevamrut and Ghan Jeevamrut.
The Governor warned that continued chemical fertilizer and pesticide use could damage soil and water resources for future generations.
He said natural farming can increase production through higher organic carbon in soil and significantly reduce costs, describing it as a cow-based system.
During his visit, he also joined students and villagers at Charvarg Primary School in Samarkha village for a yoga and pranayama session, urging daily practice.
The state government has also been promoting natural farming as a state-wide initiative.
