Centre Encourages Northeast Scholars for IKS Internship
The Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS) Division is asking more students and young scholars from Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Mizoram, Sikkim, Ladakh, and Goa to apply for their internship program.
This program pays people to do research for six months.
The division noticed that very few people from these places have applied before.
So, they are now suggesting special topics related to these regions to encourage more applications.
For example, they suggested studying traditional dances, old manuscripts, and farming methods unique to these areas.
The goal is to have more diverse research and to help scholars explore new topics.
IKS Division seeks greater participation from Northeast states and Goa in its internship program.
Zero applications received from these regions in previous rounds.
Six-month internship offers a monthly fellowship of Rs 10,000.
Region-specific topics suggested to encourage diverse research proposals.
Program aligns with National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
