FDA Suspends Licences of 6 Eateries in Mumbai

The FDA in Maharashtra conducted a statewide enforcement drive on July 23 to check for food safety violations.

They inspected 61 eateries, including hotels, restaurants, dhabas, and bakeries.

Out of these, 34 were in Mumbai.

The FDA issued 34 improvement notices, suspended six licences, and served four stop-business notices for violations of food safety norms.

The eateries that had their licences suspended include Meraz Crystal Bakery, M/S Anmol Bakery & Stores, Maharashtra Bakery & Restaurant, M/S Sawa Bakery & Restaurant, M/S Ujwala Bakery, and Hotel Shri Yuvraj Khanaval.

The FDA found violations such as operating without valid registration or licence, poor hygiene, and non-compliance with the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006.

The FDA plans to continue similar enforcement drives across the state.
