India Gains Ground in US Smartphone Market, China's Lead Shrinks
India is now sending a lot more smartphones to the US, especially Apple iPhones.
This means China is sending less.
This is due to Apple making more phones in India.
However, former US President Donald Trump wants the phones to be made in the US instead, or he might charge a tax.
Apple is likely to continue its plans in India.
India's share of US smartphone imports rose to nearly 36% in early 2025, up from 11% in 2024.
China's share of US smartphone imports fell from 82% to 49% during the same period.
