AP to Install Pay Phones in Gurukul Schools for Students
The Andhra Pradesh government is putting phones in special schools called Gurukuls so kids can call their parents every day.
These schools are for kids, especially those from poor families, and the government wants to help them feel less lonely.
Each school will have six phones, and kids will use a special card to make calls.
Parents will add money to the cards.
Kids can call their parents or guardians for a small fee.
The government hopes this will make the kids happier and help them do better in school.
The phone system is being provided by a company that will get its money from the calls.
The Andhra Pradesh government will install pay phones in 110 MJP Gurukul schools.
The initiative aims to reduce student loneliness by facilitating daily communication with parents.
Each school will have six phone boxes for student use.
Students will use prepaid smart cards to make calls, recharged by parents.
The program is being implemented by MRKR IT Solutions at no cost to the government.
