Centre Seeks Supreme Court Transfer of Online Gaming Pleas
The government wants all the court cases about online gaming to be handled by one big court, the Supreme Court.
Right now, these cases are happening in different smaller courts.
The government is worried that these different courts might make different decisions, which could be confusing.
So, they're asking the Supreme Court to take over all the cases to make sure everyone follows the same rules.
This is about a law called the Online Gaming Regulation Act.
The government wants to make sure the law is interpreted the same way everywhere.
The Centre is requesting the transfer of cases related to the Online Gaming Act to the Supreme Court.
The cases are currently pending in the High Courts of Karnataka, Delhi, and Madhya Pradesh.
The Centre aims to avoid conflicting rulings on the Online Gaming Regulation Act.
The Supreme Court will hear the Centre's plea next week.
The Centre also requested a stay on proceedings in the High Courts until the transfer petition is resolved.
