Red Alert for Heavy Rains in Himachal Pradesh

The weather department in Himachal Pradesh has issued a red alert for heavy rains in several districts.

As a result, all educational institutions in Kangra, Mandi, and Sirmaur districts will be closed on July 20 and 21.

This includes schools, colleges, and vocational training institutes.

However, residential institutions like IIT Mandi and medical colleges will remain open.

The closure is to ensure the safety of students and staff due to the potential for heavy rains and flooding.

In Kinnaur district, a flash flood has already caused significant damage, blocking a vital road and damaging a bridge.
